Performance and handling
All 2025 Equinox models carry a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with a CVT (on FWD models) or an eight-speed automatic transmission (on AWD models). This powertrain delivers a hearty 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, and it can even tow up to 1,500 pounds when the Equinox is properly equipped.
A fully independent suspension comes standard on all Equinox models, ensuring smooth, agile handling wherever you go. The new ACTIV trim adds special suspension tuning so you can have fun off the road. And to give you better traction and boost your confidence when the roads are wet or snowy, all models offer optional AWD.
Exterior styling
The Equinox looks wider, taller, and tougher for 2025. It comes standard with 17-inch machined-face aluminum tires, full LED lighting, and heated side mirrors. Unique new design touches include a C-pillar that looks like a shark fin, squared-off wheel openings, and an available white or black contrast roof.
Each of the SUV’s three trim levels — LT, RS, and ACTIV — show off unique front fascia designs and grille finishes. Interior features and space
The interior of the 2025 Equinox feels roomier than ever thanks to a new dashboard design and a column-mounted shifter that opens up console space. New textured materials give the cabin a more premium feel, and deluxe features like heated front seats and a wrapped and heated steering wheel now come standard. The ACTIV trim displays a Maple Sugar/Black interior with Evotex and microsuede upholstery, embroidered headrests, and available heated rear seats.
As always, the Equinox seats up to five passengers, and its 39.9 inches of rear legroom easily accommodates riders of all ages. The trunk holds 29.8 cubic feet of cargo and provides hidden underfloor storage space as well. Folding down the 60/40 split rear seat gives you a total of 63.5 cubic feet to fill. For easier cargo-area access, the new presence-based AutoSense power liftgate is standard or available on all trims.
Infotainment tech
One of the most prominent new features on the 2025 Equinox is an advanced dual-screen infotainment display. Angled so it’s easy to see and reach, this standard array integrates an 11.3-inch center touchscreen and an 11-inch digital driver display behind the steering wheel. Using this setup, you can take advantage of Google built-in services, use connected apps, pull up driving directions, and access your favorite smartphone apps. You can also connect to a Wi-Fi® hotspot, tune in SiriusXM® radio channels, and take advantage of complimentary OnStar Basics like voice assistance and real-time traffic and navigation.
